Description:

Deciduous tree with rough, gray bark and clusters of pink berries. The leaves had already dropped and were gone so I don't know what they look like.

Seema, I agree the berries do look like a pepper tree nor have I seen them leafless.

Seema, I haven't seen a Sumac with berry clusters like this but I'm no expert. If you have a reference, please send it. I love to learn about different trees!

Thank you Dane! I think you nailed the genus. I'm not familiar with the species but read its a bush or maybe small tree. This tree was planted and not necessarily native but if you have a reference showing the inflorescence, I'd love to see it!
