Zingiber spectabile
Dear auntnance123, you can remember it on your next visit to Kerala in India and, if you come with some painful sprain, you can even test its medicinal value.
auntnance123, these are in my backyard, inside my property, for the last three decades. People used to come sometimes to uproot some for making a poultice for curing sprains and aches (injuries without bleeding).
Quite welcome, Vincent; I first encountered them in Costa Rica. These are stunning pictures.
Thank you, auntnance123. I have edited my spotting according to your suggestion.
Not ginger, alicelongmartin. The leaves are four or five times the size of ginger...and the flower is also very large.
