White tailed deer

Odocoileus virginianus

Description:

I am not familiar with the different deer species of the US but am pretty confident this is a young white-tailed deer buck. It was spotted in my grandfathers garden eating a pumpkin left-over from Halloween. He/she didn't see us through the window glare allowing me to take several pictures (I will dig in the archive to see if I can find one with the full body).

Thank you Shawn, I was waiting for a confirmation :) Appreciate it! I was looking to find the full body shots I took, but unfortunately they are on a computer I left back in Norway. I do recall taking phone pictures too though.. Will have a look!

Based on the two pictures you uploaded, I think you are correct about it being a White-Tailed Deer. A fully body shot, or picture of the tail would help confirm things more. If it wasn't a White-Tailed, I think that it would more likely be a Mule Deer, based on the ears, in my opinion. :) Very nice shots though, regardless of specie.
