Urtica dioica

Description:

Perennial plant that grows up to 1-2 meters high. It has green flowers and its leaves have hairs on them which break when touched releasing a toxin that causes a painful sting. The plant's leaves are actually edible if you boil them as heat destroys the toxin. Can make stinging nettle soup and it is found wrapped around Cornish Yarg cheese.
