Toothed lancewood or horoeka, (Pseudopanax ferox), is a small tree endemic to New Zealand. It's a very popular ornamental plant, and it attracts the birds during their breeding period (as you can see in the pics, it hosts a blackbird nest) (pics were snapped before the Christchurch earthquakes)
