Unknown Spotting

Description:

A darkly colored turtle. The sun's angle made it tough to determine its actual color, though I'm tempted to say very dark green or brown. It slipped off into the water before I could get any more pictures.

Habitat:

Shelby Farms Park, Tennessee.

Notes:

Phone camera. Sorry for the quality.

Oh, thanks for the info! Having looked at pictures of those three, I'm tempted to say it was a Southern Painted Turtle, but I still can't be sure. =(

Definitely not a snapper. Based on size and shape and the distribution of the turtles species in TN, you have three choices. Southern Painted Turtle, Pond Slider, and River Cooter.
