Python bivittatus
Another resident here at the Ralph Mitchell Zoo, a male Burmese python. Originally I thought these guys where endangered, turns out they're just Vulnerable. Which is still a borderline case, save the phythons!
Burmese pythons are found throughout Southern- and Southeast Asia, including Eastern India, Nepal, western Bhutan, southeastern Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, northern continental Malaysia, far southern China, and are even an invasive species here in the States as they've been reported in Florida.
This particular python shares its home with a female (an albino no less), and the two have made eggs, which I had originally assumed was for conservation, and might still be. Or perhaps they where taken to some sort of hatchery to either go to the wild or other zoo programs, I'll have to ask next time I see one of the keepers.

AshleyT I have nothing but respect for animals, it was a joke haha I meant no offense. I'll change it haha. SeanGreen I know it's not wild, but the site has nothing against zoo animals so long as I specify them, there's even a mission for captive animals, which I've listed this one under.
Burmese pythons are not endangered, they are classified as vulnerable by the IUCN. Also, they are not going to eat you. And neither are alligators. Having that negativity towards these animals just furthers the hate towards them that so many already have
