Some kind of mold about 15mm in height. The third photo shows the spores being disbursed in wind.

Habitat:

Found on a piece of dead wood after rains.

These are the fruiting bodies of a chocolate tube slime mold, Stemonitis sp. The 'powdery' material is the spores. When they have been released the network structure that held them is left - the feathery structures.

I wonder if it could be a slime mold... I think their fruiting bodies sometimes look like that.
