Pale Yellow Trillium

Description:

This spring-flowering perennial plant has pale yellow petals which stand upright at the junction of the three leaves.

Habitat:

It is locally common in rich woods within its restricted range. It is found in parts of the Savannah River drainage system of Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina. This one was photographed at the Stevens Creek Heritage Preserve near Clarks Hill, SC.

Notes:

It's also called Faded Trillium or Small Yellow Toadshade.
