Description:

large bug with forward-projecting "shoulder" spikes.

Habitat:

Found at Tucson Botanical Gardens, but native habitat is typical Sonoran Desert with mesquite, prickly-pear cacti, ocotillo.

Notes:

These insects feed on acacia and mesquite pods.
