Description:

The white part is found underground just under the surface. The red part comes out of the white part. These appear after heavy rain and then quickly disappears.

Habitat:

Small farm.

Notes:

The white part tends to be mushy.

I can't make out which of the species of Clathrus it is, but it is a Stinkhorn. Here is a link to the list of Clathrus species: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clathrus
Probably you can detect which one is it as you have seen it better.
