A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Polyphylla decemlineata
Large beetle, about 2 cm long, attracted to light and feed on foliage.
This area is quite well treed and we are not too far from Burns Bog. It is also an agricultural area, potatoes, corn, blueberries and market gardens.
This beetle flew into my house in the evening. I have never seen it before. It got trapped in a sheer curtain and at that time had its antenna spread out as fans, therefore I assume it was male. I trapped it under a glass took pictures and then one more outside before it flew off.
