Cardinal Flower

Lobelia Cardinalis

Description:

Bright red flowers. Tubular flower with two lips. Top one has two lobes and bottom lip has three lobes. Grows upright on tubular stalks.

Habitat:

Wetlands, marshes and creekbanks.

Notes:

Found them as a child roaming the woods and creeks. Found them last year at our campsite. They like rocky outcrops near the water.
