Killdeer

Charadrius vociferus

Description:

Fledgling Killdeer look similar in pattern as the adults. Band across forhead to back of head, full collar and long legs. Mostly white and brown in color.

Habitat:

Can be found also in open flat fields, these were spotted at the edge of a pond.

Notes:

While trying to photograph dragonflies I noticed not far from me was a family of Killdeer.
