Crab

Description:

This handsome crab is literally strong as its looks. The shear grip of its claw can break the neck of a coca cola soft drink bottle. The dominant male has takes on more reddish hue than the inferior males and female that has more purple hue. Since this species cannot breath under salt water and needs a cleaner bodies of fresh water, they become more vulnerable or threatened because of habitat loss due to commercial fishpond farming and land conversions aside from being a favorite exotic delicacy.

Habitat:

Marsh land, swamps, rivers and creeks.
