Asclepias syriaca
Stout, downy plant. The broad oval leaves are thick and covered with grayish down on the underside. The umbels are sometimes so heavy that they are in a drooping position. The flowers are in soft shades of pink and lavender. The erect pointed seed pods are gray-green and have a warty appearance. The pods are four inches long.
Grows along roads and in dry fields to the height of three to six feet.
