I agree with ForestDragon that this is a cardinal, but the coloration is unique. That in itself isn't terribly unusual; many birds vary in color across the species either due to a large range, diet, or genetic makeup. This looks like a genetic variation. Cindy, it looks like an abnormally colored Cardinal to me.
