Medium sized fly with metallic green/yellow coloration. Bristles on thorax and transparent wings. Red eyes. Common and found in all different types of habitats. Attracted to rotting vegetation, garbage and other smelly things.
Suburban backyard garden.
These two seemed to be sharing a quiet moment together. Notice how the one fly has a front leg touching the other. Perhaps they are sharing some fly secrets!
