Hyla chrysoscelis
Small, green (tree?) frog of some sort, perhaps an inch to an inch-and-a-half in length **According to Wiki: "Cope's gray tree frog (Hyla chrysoscelis) is a species of tree frog found in the United States. It is almost indistinguishable from the gray tree frog, Hyla versicolor, and shares much of its geographic range" and are only differentiated by their calls and H. versicolor has an extra set of chromosomes**
On a leaf next to a mowed trail leading to Lake Emma
This lovely little green frog was very cooperative of my taking its picture from every which way I could muster. My grandson was on the trail jumping, talking and running as four-year-old boys will do and even with the added commotion, this handsome frog never batted an eye...
They are green when they are metamorphs, it will likely be gray when it gets older :)
