Large Orange Lacewing

Nymphes myrmeleonides

Description:

40 mm. Bright orange with black eyes that reflect blue. Black antenna with orange tips. Orange legs. Long club-like abdomen. Rounded thorax and erect head. The wings have reddish veins with cream,black and red marks at the ends.

Habitat:

Nocturnal image of a lacewing resting under the light on the interior wall of a public phone booth by the road. Other specimen were attracted to the torch in darker places through the wooded area
