A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
A school of tiny, transparent fish with a translucent midline.
The office has dry drains to channel monsoon rain water. Today when I took a walk I was amazed to see an ecosystem flourishing there. There were tiny spiral shells (!), loads of tiny fish (I thought these were tadpoles till I looked closely). a water scorpion and filamentous algae.
The question is where is the mother fish that laid the eggs? Rainwater could not have brought these here. The drains do not empty into lakes (so overflow is ruled out.)
