Description:

The upper surface of the wings is black with two rows of yellow spots—large and bright in males and smaller and lighter in females. This is a male. Hind wings have a conspicuous red spot with a black bulls-eye on the inner hind margin of the hind wings. The costa of the front wings have an isolated yellow spot.

Habitat:

Perched on grass leaf at side of road. Brazilian Vervain (Verbena brasiliensis) and Downy Milkpea (Galactia volubilis) nearby.
