True Horse Fly

Tabanus sp.

Description:

Large fly, large eyes that covers almost the whole head. Thorax is grayish and fuzzy. Abdomen is brown and a white line goes across it vertically.

Habitat:

Found on a LED lightbulb, in the kitchen. Widespread throughout the world. Known to bite hoofed animals and bovines, hence the name and also humans sometimes, could be painful but I haven't experienced it yet and hopefully won't.

Notes:

Tabanus lineola?
