Epidendrum amphistomum

Description:

Endangered epiphytic orchid that can be found in Southern Florida. Flowers have an umbel inflorescence (spherical) and the colors can range from green-yellow to purple-red. Also, the leaves are usually green, but every once in a while you run into the red variety as shown in the last picture above.

Habitat:

Cypress forest/slough among pop-ash and pond apple trees.
