Grey Squirrel

Sciurus carolinensis

Description:

This Grey Squirrel has continuously caused mayhem. Constantly climbing up the bird feeders and stealing their food. There are several in our woods and they have caused significant damage to the trees in the area. They are without fear and very cheeky. The woodland managers try to control the population by shooting them but others always take their place. We have had to take the feeder off the window now as it wakes us up at dawn by climbing up and it eats all the food before the birds get a chance......we also have other squirrel proof feeders up so the birds still get fed!

Those crazy squirrels!
There is a type of bird feeder called "Brome Squirrel Buster" which prevents squirrels from eating all the bird food. It really works, and it's hilarious watching the squirrels try to figure it out!

Your picture and video really started my day out right. Patience and determination got him his goal! So cute! i feel lucky that I only have one red squirrel that shares our feeder with the birds. I enjoyed a good laugh!
