Inverted or Beetle Planthopper

Ancyra sp., Eurybrachidae, Hemiptera

Description:

The unusual feature of these hoppers (apart from their general appearance) is the pair of fake antennae on the rear end which are used in conjunction with eye spots on the wing tips (not visible in this image) to confuse predators as to which end is the head. They walk backwards when threatened to accentuate the illusion.
