Congratulations Mark Anthony, your crab is our Spotting of the Day! To complete the spotting I have added in the scientific name for you. Thanks for telling us its local name!
"For your eyes only! This remarkable Horn-eyed ghost crab (Ocypode ceratophthalma) is our Spotting of the Day. Eyestalks allow the crab to check for predators from a burrow opening without exposing its body. O. ceratophthalma has eyestalks actually extending beyond the cornea into long points (styles), a feature known as exophthalmy. Ghost crabs (subfamily Ocypodinae) take their name from their nocturnal habit and their generally pale coloration"
