Awesome find. I'm a bit envious. LOVE finding these big caterpillars.
"Saturniid" caterpillars, and the moths they become, are always so dramatic. The only one I know of that can be a cause for concern is the Io ( "eye-oh") moth, which has stinging bristles. The rest are safe to hold.

A very cool moth family to get to know.
