Description:

An aquatic plant that blooms from May to July, it produces several bluish violet flowers on a stout stem among a cluster of sword-like leaves.

Habitat:

Spotted near the Chippewa Picnic site on Hwy 26. In Minnesota it is a widespread, common iris. Found near swamps, marshes, ponds and bogs.
