Description:

Large and brightly marked Eristalis. It has a shorter and broader abdomen than E. pertinax or E. tenax and has a darkened area across the wing. Always has a distinct black stripe on the face, further distinguishing from arbustorum.

Spotted at alpine meadow. Parque Nacional de Sierra de Guadarrama. Peñalara
