Bubo virginianus
This was taken at the Vancouver Game Farm.
Thanks! Could you please let us know in your notes or mission when any of your spottings are actually in captivity? Great photos.
Upon further checking, it is likely a sub-specie of the Great Horned Owl known as Northern/Subarctic Great Horned Owl, Bubo virginianus subarcticus, according to wikipedia's page.
I only seen one my whole entire life and unfortunately it hit my fathers truck windshield and it was big and all white...we burried it in the snow, it was a bad blizzard night and it flew into us... i was only 9 years old than..lovely creatures.
From what I can tell, it looks a lot like a white Great Horned Owl. Scientific Name: Bubo virginianus. A quick google search for Great Horned Owl white, brought up a few images that look quite similar. Hopefully this helps a bit with the ID.
