Mantis religiosa
vs Common Green Darner
Invasive species of Mantis that is spread mostly by buying them as biocontrols for garden pests. But what is happening they are also feeding on the smaller native species. This is identified by the size and the lack of a green line of the Chinese species.
This one seems to prefer the reeds of the nearby marsh.
The Chinese species have been known to actually killing hummingbirds by waiting by feeders.
