Description:

Approximately 3" tall with white stem and gills. The 3" cap was concave, dark pink to red and orange.

Habitat:

This was found on the edge of a bottomland hardwood forest, in an open grass field.

Hi Bonnie. Just to follow up on Mauna's suggestion, I found the following: https://depositphotos.com/197531094/stoc...
It is an Amanita muscaria - Red poisonous Fly Agaric mushroom and looks very much like yours. I think you got it Mauna (stay safe up there).
