Whoa! I am just now seeing this! Do you know if it was found in the NM area? It also looks to be pretty damaged. (ends look chewed off) I think it's the sacrum and tail section from a cow, but I really need to do a little more research before I can be 100% certain.
The bone is approximately 24 inches long and I will post a side view soon. We have explored the fact that it maybe a lizard or croc but cannot find any that look like this.
Welcome to Project Noah. I know little of bones. Maybe a 'side' shot would help the experts. In complete ignorance my guess would be some lizard or croc so actual sizes would help. To help your search you could add this spotting to the 'mission' for identifying animals through osteology. http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/8475...

As mentioned, please consider adding this to the "Identifying Animals Through Osteology Mission: http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/8475...
