Description:

Large plant with very large, spectacular funnel-like flowers.

Habitat:

Low area adjacent to riparian corridor below a dam for a reservoir.

Notes:

Pollinated by a variety of bees, including the squash bee, Peponapis pruinosa. Blossoms open early in the morning and fold again in the heat of the day.
