American Cockroach

Periplaneta americana

Description:

American Cockroaches (Periplaneta americana) tend to be 1 to 2 inches in length and about 1/5 an inch tall. Their Body structure is very similar to that of any other cockroach. Its body stays a reddish brown and has a yellowish margin right behind the head

Habitat:

American Cockroaches generally prefer to stay outdoors in a warm, moist and dark environment with temperatures around 70 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Cockroaches tend to enjoy fermenting and decaying materials as a food source. Though it is not origionally from The United States it has made residence in it for about 400 years

Notes:

1. Cockroaches are known to spread many bacteria, such as Salmonella and up to 6 different types of parasitic worm. 2.
