Classic Moray silhouette, Long thin eel, sort of snout on the end of his face, and body length short fin. This one was about 35-40cm long, quite small, maybe 2-3cm in diameter, body and face was spotted all over in white and reddish brown.
Coral rock pools at low tide along the beach on the east coast.
I didn't see him actually until he sort of slapped up out of the water, slipped over some rocks and down into another pool. At first I thought it was a sea snake, and then when I saw him closer I realised it was a Moray. Very surprised, never expected to see a Moray whilst rock pooling.
