Description:

It measures 18 cm long and weighs 43 g (male). It has full and compact body; thick, strong, finelly pointed beak; short, strong legs with fingers carrying sharp nails, long wings and tail. The general color of the plumage is slate blue dorsally and blue-gray on the bottom, being lighter at the throat. At the meeting of the wings, the blue color is stronger. The female staining is a little lighter.

Habitat:

Virgin and secondary forests, orchards and gardens of urban and rural areas. Forms bands of up to 15 individuals.
