Hi Mel11,
I don't know much about British moths, but have you tried looking for this one in the category Owlet Moths (family Noctuidae). That pointed "snout", combined with the massive eyes makes me think of Noctuidae. Sorry if this doesn't help much and i hope you find the ID you need. Good Luck.
