Bedstraw Hawk Moth

Description:

Dark brown and green with striking cream horizontal stripes/markings on forewings. Hindwings are pink and outlined with dark bands.

Habitat:

It was in my garage!

Notes:

I saw one of these up close for the first time, beauteous moth. Out in the garage flying around the ceiling light there have been several giant insects that make me look up to make sure it's not a bat (and then blind myself). This one was injured and I was able to scoop it up gently for some pics. Of course the first thing I thought of was my plastic Mothra model that was over on the side, it looks more like Mothra than Attacus Atlas!
