Tortoise Beetle Larva

Description:

Not sure larvae of what insect, has interesting appendages. Very small in size, less than 1 cm.

Habitat:

Around the garden of the Resort I was staying at.

I agree with @Machi that this is most likely a Tortoise Beetle larva.
This is too small (less than 1 cm) to be a Caterpillar, @MrsPbio, as this is just the 'empty shell' of the larvae.
I also made a google search on Tortoise Beetle larva and yes, a few of them looks similar to this one.

I am almost certain it is a tortoise beetle larva, as they use their dung as camouflage. It looks exactly like the ones I found on some nightshade in my garden next to the adults, and I believe the black area on its back is the dung

Looks like one of those stinging caterpillars - spines around the left side perimeter reminded me of a "crowned slug caterpillar", but those fat whiter ones are different. I think I see 6 forelegs and a set of prolegs. I'm thinking a stinging caterpillar.
