Imperial Coral Shrimp

Philarius imperialis

Description:

Tiny Shrimps living among the crevices of Acropora coral. This pair are very small, the biggest one on the left is around 8-10 mm and the smaller one on the right is around 6-8 mm. They are seldom seen or difficult to find and even harder to take good pictures of as they gaps between the Acropora coral branches makes it difficult to get the light through. Mostly translucent yellow in colour with 'speckles of gold'.

Habitat:

Tropical reefs among Acropora corals.
