Good set of photos! The pod in your hand is important for identification. I'm not a plant expert, but my guess is Mexican palo verde. You called it a tree, but didn't give an estimated height. You also mentioned green capsules, so it would be nice to have a picture of those, too. You don't need to go back; just notes for next week. Great job!
