Trichosurus vulpecula
Like most possums, the common brush-tail possum is nocturnal. It is mainly a folivore, but has been known to eat small mammals such as rats. In most Australian habitats, leaves of eucalyptus are a significant part of the diet but rarely the sole item eaten. The tail is prehensile and naked on its lower underside. There are four colour variations: silver-grey, brown, black, and gold.

Adorable. Pesky, but adorable :)
Yes Xinxin.. it is a wild animal but they are not very shy. :)
Hard to believe its spotted in the wild, almost too adorable!
:) I KNOW.. Little Cuties..
They are little darlings like that! My lemons all get peeled. Last time I looked up at a possum directly above me, it rained a little gift down on me - be careful out there!!
Hi triggsturner.. On my place they are public enemy #1 in the moment too. They eat everything in the garden.. I have 500 ha native bushland around me but my capsicum is now their favourite. :)
Hi Christiane, they are cute, but in NZ they are public enemy #1. However in their native land they do look great! Thanks for sharing these lovely images.
One peach is better than no peaches :)
Thanks Ashley .. Great to see you guys like this little critter.. :)
Mmm to cute to get angry.. but they left me not ONE peach ...
I like that about the rats
Your spotting has been nominated for the Spotting of the Week. The winner will be chosen by the Project Noah Rangers based on a combination of factors including: uniqueness of the shot, status of the organism (for example, rare or endangered), quality of the information provided in the habitat and description sections. There is a subjective element, of course; the spotting with the highest number of Ranger votes is chosen. Congratulations on being nominated!
Thanks doreen.chambers.14. They are cute, but they are eating my fruit tree empty.
very cute!
