Salticidae
The jumping spider family is the largest family of spiders. The jumping spider family has 5,000 described species making up 13% of all spider species. The jumping spider has wonderful vision and uses it to it's advantage in courtship, hunting, and navigation. The jumping spider normally moves fairly quietly and slowly, it gets it's nickname from using it's agility filled jumps when hunting and as a response to sudden threat.
Jumping spiders live in a variety of habitats. Mostly found in tropical rain forests, they are also found in mountainous regions. Some were said to be spotted on the slopes of Mount Everest.
This jumping spider was on my living room wall. It was just sitting in that spot peacefully. There is a few that I've seen around my house.
