Red tent spider

Description:

About 1 cm in length. A dark red with black on the legs.

Habitat:

Shrubs and trees in the rainforest. The red tent spider has a three-dimensional web shaped sphere. With a hole just big enough for the spider to get in and out at the bottom.

Notes:

The red tent spider is hiding underneath a leaf in the middle of the web. It is hiding for protection and so the prey don’t see him or her.
