Juvenile red rock crabs are often referred to as being "candy-striped" because of their beautiful and various patterns.

Notes:

Note: There are three species of crab that are commonly referred to as red rock crabs: 'Cancer productus', found on the west coast of North America; 'Grapsus grapsus' found on the west coast of South America; 'Guinusia chabrus' found in South Africa, Chile, New Zealand, Australia.
