Brachymesia gravida
Perches conspicuously on tips of twigs in true pennant fashion. This is a female, which is bronze in color and has white stigmas. Males also have white stigmas, but also have a dark spot on each wing. In addition, the bodies of males are a bluish-black in color - similar to a Slaty Skimmer.
This one was photographed at a freshwater pond adjacent to a saltwater marsh at Huntington Beach State Park near Murrells Inlet, SC.
