Artocarpus heterophyllus
This tall tree is known as a jackfruit tree! It has dark green, medium sized leaves coming off the branches. The sometimes large, or sometimes small, oval shape with little pointy triangles around the whole thing, is called a jackfruit! Jackfruit is actually the largest tree-born fruit, reaching as much as 80 pounds in weight, 36 inches long, and 20 inches in diameter.
Jackfruit can be found in many places, but mostly tropical regions around the world.
Jackfruit is delicious, rich in energy, dietary fiber, minerals, and vitamins! It is actually high in calories, but contains no saturated fats or cholesterol, making it one of the healthiest fruits!
