Tube of the flower is narrow and very long, and opens into a flat-faced flower with 6 or more petals. Leaves are elliptic-obovate, ribbed and hairy underneath. It is native to Indonesia and Malaysia.
Central Kalimantan rainforest.
Wait until you have some more feedback, and it may clear up the confusion. We have a lot of Gardenia species in Australia too. Cheers Andrea
Hi Andrea, Thank you so much for the information. I've checked it ^^
But, there's something just disturb me is the leaves. There's Magnolia that is similiar to this pics and it's endemic to West Sulawesi province of Indonesia but I'm in Central Kalimatan. So, i'm not quite sure about it too. It really looks like Gardenia spatulifolia but it looks like Magnolia vrieseana too. I was stuck so long with this flower since i arrive here. oh..........I'm really confused.
Hi Yanti, This may belong to the Gardenia group. Does it have a beautiful scent? The leaves look for for it. http://www.flickr.com/photos/tgerus/4127... Do a search for Gardenia images and see what you find. Cheers Andrea
